Growing a small business can be a challenge, but the U.S. Small Business Administration provides support for free or minimal charge.
Companies in the West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation incubator are already taking advantage by setting up their offices in the Alan B. Mollohan Innovation Center in Fairmont for about the third of a cost of what a typical office complex charges.
Deputy Administrator Marie Johns of the SBA said the set-up works well for the incubator.
"The incubator is a great example of what really works for small businesses, giving them the small companies an opportunity to develop in a fertile and very supportive environment, to network with other businesses that are in the same stage of development, figure out other ways to work together," Johns said.
Several of the companies that are a part of the incubator include Agile 5 Technologies, Inc., Athena Sciences Corporation, Exdel Services, LLC, Fenwick Technologies, INC., and the Regional Contracting Assistance Center, INC.
