The Morgantown Police Department arrested a Massachusetts man in connection with an malicious wounding incident that occurred on January 27.
Samuel Heavey, 22 of Marion, Mass., was arrested and charged with malicious wounding Friday.
The police department responded to a malicious wounding incident that occurred in the 400 block of High Street.
The victim, Christian Chirico, was struck in the face with a glass beer bottle and sustained serious injury, according to police.
Police said the victim was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he received emergency surgery and was later released.
Heavy is being held on a $25,000 secured bond, police said.
