FAIRMONT -
First Exchange Bank held its annual Groundhog Day Breakfast Friday morning in Fairmont.
The breakfast allows local businesses to network and share ideas.
This is the 18th year for the breakfast and the bank said it was one of the largest it's ever had.
Guest speakers discussed the federal budget and debt, as well as Identity Fraud.
"We bring in special guests that predict what's going to happen next year in the spirit of Groundhog day," said William Goettel, First Exchange President and CEO. "This year we were privileged enough to have Senator Manchin speak, in addition to our guest speaker from the FBI that spoke about identity theft."
"I've just been appointed to the banking in the United States Senate as far as the banking committee," said Senator Joe Manchin, (D) West Virginia. "So I'll have an awful lot of input as far as on the regulations and how community banks are supposed to operate and how they thrive and how they are the fabric of the community."
Those in attendance made their "Groundhog Day" projections for 2013.
The "top predictors" from last year received prizes.
