Super Bowl XLVII will feature a pair of teams with quite a bit in common when the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers take the field in New Orleans on Sunday. Ironically, it will be a battle between two brothers in John, head coach of the Ravens, and Jim Harbaugh, head coach of the 49ers.
Super Bowl week brings back fond memories to one local coach. Mike Compton, a Fairmont State assistant football coach, won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots during 2001 and 2004. Compton was a former All-American center at West Virginia University.
WBOY Sports Director Matt Hauswirth caught up with Compton on Thursday, speaking with the Super Bowl winner about his memories of the big game, an update on Fairmont State football recruiting, and a prediction of the winner on Sunday.
