MORGANTOWN -

Sergeant W. J. Yaskoweak of the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department is investigating an accident in Morgantown that sent one woman to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

It happened Monday afternoon on Van Voorhis Road, between Killarney Drive and Southview Street.

The authorities said the woman drove her car into a utility pole. The road was closed for several hours while Mon Power worked to cut the power before removing the car from the utility pole.

The sheriff's department said it does not think the accident was weather-related.
