A former Charleston Chase bank executive was charged with embezzling thousands of dollars from the bank, the U.S. Attorney's office recently announced.

According to a Feb. 4 court document, Mark McCoy, 46, served as vice president of private client banking services at the bank's Charleston branch from September 2008 until June 2012.

If convicted, McCoy could face up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's office.
