CLARKSBURG -

The Harrison County Board of Education held a special session Tuesday.

During the session the board met with lawmakers, teachers, and administrators to discuss local issues.

Those issues ranged from the number of bus drivers to school health.

When it comes to school safety, the board has made some changes, but said it still needs more funding.

"We put locks on doors that can lock from the inside, but with older schools and hundreds and hundreds of classrooms we just simply weren't able to get enough money to complete this job. We're asking them to fund the School Building Authority's request for additional money," said Mike Queen, School Board President.

The board will meet with lawmakers again in Charleston in late March.
