City of Elkins Lifts Boil Water Notice

    An electrical fire destroyed a home in Harrison County Tuesday night. The Harrison County 911 Center said it started just after 12:15 a.m. on Locust Street in Salem. It said the fire appears to be suspicious.

The City of Elkins has lifted the boil water notice issued on February 6.


Original Story

The City of Elkins has issued a boil water notice for the following areas in the city: 2nd Ward, 3rd Ward, and 4th Ward starting on Sycamore Street and including the area north of Sycamore Street, Crystal Springs, and Highland Park.

The notice is also in effect for customers of the Huttonsville Public Service District and the Leadsville Public Service District.

Customers in other areas of the city may experience cloudy water, but do not need to boil their water.
