Gary A. Shrewsbury has joined the faculty of New River Community and Technical College as a visiting Commercial Driver's License instructional specialist.
A CDL is required to drive large vehicles such as tractor-trailer rigs, tandem trucks or buses. New River offers CDL training at the Advanced Technology Center, which is located just off the I-77 Ghent exit.
Shrewsbury has many years of experience as a commercial truck driver. He studied diesel mechanics at Wyoming County Vocational Technical School and served in the Army from 1984-1987. He has a Class A CDL with all endorsements in addition to WV 07 Surface Coal Miner and Virginia Surface Miner certifications.
