Southwest Virginia Moving & Storage, a moving company for Virginia and West Virginia that includes the Roanoke Valley, the New River Valley and Bluefield-Princeton, has been inducted as a core member of the International Association of Movers.

The company is an independent, locally owned moving and storage services provider. IAM, a global association with more than 2,000 members in 170 countries and territories, is the largest worldwide professional coalition of companies representing the household goods moving industry.

Andrew Drescher, president of Southwest Virginia Moving and Storage, said the business was founded in April 2011 after the purchase of Pitzer Transfer of Salem, Va., Robert and Son's Moving of Christiansburg, Va., and Wallace Transfer of Princeton.
