    An electrical fire destroyed a home in Harrison County Tuesday night. The Harrison County 911 Center said it started just after 12:15 a.m. on Locust Street in Salem. It said the fire appears to be suspicious.

A bit of Bourbon Street was in Elkins Friday night at the Randolph County Community Arts Center.

The Arts Center hosted its very first Mardi Gras dinner and dance to raise money for future art events. Organizers said volunteers even put together a traditional Louisiana-style dinner. 

"I think they're very much looking forward to the band we have. Zig Zag is a local band that plays Cajun music, and we're going to strike up the band shortly. We'll be having lots of dancing as well as enjoying the food," Doreen Hall said.

The big Mardi Gras event in New Orleans will take place on Tuesday.
