The 24th annual Pennies from Heaven campaign will be launched on February 9 from noon to 6pm at the Huntington Mall (in center court near the Hope Blossoms art display). Supporters of the TEAM for West Virginia Children will be on hand along with the fixings for making valentines.
Greg Goode will be available to do face painting and make balloon animals. Music will be provided by Ryan Jefferson and The Brother Sisters. A large red heart marks the spot where donations can be made.
Children can decorate valentines to help "Build a Happy Heart." The campaign's goal is $30,000. Pennies from Heaven takes place in area schools and childcare centers. February 11th through March 5th, containers will be placed at these locations to collect pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, dollars or checks. More than seventy schools and centers across Cabell, Wayne, and Lincoln counties will participate.
The TEAM for West Virginia Children has been advocating for children and strengthening families to prevent child abuse and neglect for more than twenty-six years. The "Pennies from Heaven" fundraising campaign supports the work of the organization.
