Friends and family of Skylar Neese gathered in Star City Sunday night for a vigil on her 17th birthday.
Neese went missing from the area seven months ago.
She was last seen on surveillance video near her apartment.
Almost 100 people came out to support Neese's family at the vigil.
Her family said they were thankful to receive such a show of support from the community.
"When something like this happens it hits the whole community, and it makes you think'what if it was my kid?' Well you know what? It is my kid and I truly appreciate all the things people have done for me and my family. It's just been phenomenal," said Skylar's father David Neese.
Students from University High School wrapped up the vigil by lighting and releasing sky lanterns.
