Bridgeport soon will have a bridge for pedestrians.

The city is building a pedestrian bridge across Simpson's Creek on Virginia Avenue.

It's expected to cost about $100,000 and should be finished in the beginning of April.

The city said the 100-foot long bridge will make pedestrian traffic in the downtown area safer.
