Work is continuing on the new courthouse annex in Lewis County but the county commission is already getting new staff lined up.
The commission hired James David Clevenger to be the annex's new chief of security.
Clevenger is a former chief deputy of the Lewis County Sheriff's Department.
Commissioner Agnes Queen said there will be plenty for Clevenger to do even before the annex opens.
"He'll have to understand the mechanisms of the new judicial annex, the wiring, get on board with getting new hires that we're going to hire for other positions that are security related within the building, and come up with policies, procedures and plans that will have to happen before the building is open," Queen said.
Clevenger is expected to start March 1. The annex is slated to open on July 1.
