Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community and Technical College are asking the community to help restock its food bank.

"The Nest" opened in September and has confidentially fed more than 200 students in need.

Staff members said it's important to keep "the Nest" full because it helps so many students.

"It's really good to help out students who are unable to afford good food. We have a number of kids that can't afford to buy food in the dining hall, they don't have meal plans," said Thelma Hutchins, of director of library services at FSU.

"The Nest" needs non-perishable items which you can drop off at the library circulation desk.

Students can use the food bank on Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
