UPDATE: Workers Continue to Clear Debris From Gore Train Derailment

    An electrical fire destroyed a home in Harrison County Tuesday night. The Harrison County 911 Center said it started just after 12:15 a.m. on Locust Street in Salem. It said the fire appears to be suspicious.

Crews are still working to clean up diesel fuel from a train derailment that happened on February 9.

CSX Spokesman Bob Sullivan said crews are working closely with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection to clean the area.  The train cars have been cleared from the derailment site.

Residents living near the derailment site are still displaced from their home, but CSX said it's working to make sure they are taken care of.

The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.

Workers are continuing to clear debris at the site of a train derailment in Harrison County.

A CSX train hit debris from a rock slide and one locomotive and six freight cars derailed Saturday in Gore.

CSX Spokeswoman Carla Groleau said the railroad returned to full operations after 11 p.m. Sunday.

CSX and Marine Specialists are on site cleaning the area and are working closely with the W.Va. Department of Environmental Protection.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by CSX, which could take a couple of weeks, according to CSX.

Clean up of the area is ongoing and will be completed next week.
