Resolution introduced to rename area after murdered state troopers

Posted: Updated:
CHARLESTON, West Virginia -

A resolution introduced in the West Virginia Legislature Feb. 13 would rename the I-79 area near Wallback after the two state troopers who were shot and killed there Aug. 31, 2012.

The resolution, HCR17, would name the I-79 interchange at Exit 34 the "State Police Cpl. Marshall Lee Bailey and Trooper Eric Workman Memorial Interchange."

Each bridge crossing the area would be marked by signs to memorialize the area if the resolution is adopted.

The resolution was introduced by Delegates Bob Ashley (R-Roane) and David Walker (D-Clay).
