FAIRMONT -

Marion County Residents came out Friday night for some Post-Valentines day fun while supporting a good cause.

The Marion County Humane Society held its third annual Dance for a Second Chance event.

The band, Rick K. And the All Nighters, was present to perform for more than 300 people.

The Marion County Humane Society said it's important to raise money to save the animals.

"If we didn't have people, wonderful people like this coming to our fundraiser's and our memberships and donations and grants we would not be able to survive. We're a no kill animal shelter so it takes everything we have to keep the animals alive," Cathy Reed-Vanata said.

Last year the Humane Society 8,000 and hopes to do the same or even more this year.
