WORTHINGTON -

A structure fire caused minimal damage to a home in Worthington Sunday afternoon.

The Worthington Volunteer Fire Department said the fire started in the kitchen of a home on Canary Street just after 3:00 p.m.

The cause of the fire is believed to be from a lighting fixture.

The owner of the house was present when the fire started and called 911.

The fire did minimal damage and was contained to the kitchen.

Worthington Volunteer Fire Department said the damage was approximately $1000.
