MORGANTOWN -
The Mountaineer Area Robotics Team held an open house on Sunday to show off a new robot.
The MARS team demonstrated what this year's robot can do, as well as their robots from previous years.
The new robot is designed to throw a frisbee and climb a tower.
The team has been working on the 2013 Marvin six robot for six weeks.
"We have been designing, prototyping and building for this year's game, Ultimate Ascent and so it's a Frisbee game and there are different levels to shoot Frisbees and there is an end game where we have to climb on a tower," said Kati DeMicco, with MARS. "Essentially we've pretty much been shut in for the last six weeks working on this and it's a way to show the community what we're doing."
The robot will be competing at Peterson Event Center in Pittsburgh in the middle of March.
