East Park Elementary Students Dismissed Due to Strange Odor at School

Posted: Updated:

East Park Elementary students were dismissed at 11:30 a.m. Monday, due to a strange odor in the school, according to assistant principal Jessica Holt.

Marion County superintendent Gary Price said ash had built up in the furnace of the school, and it wasn't venting properly which created the strange odor.

Marion County School Maintenance has cleaned out the furnace and it is now working properly, according to Price.

East Park Elementary School students will be back in school Tuesday.
