Sequestration is a critical issue right now in our country and it's scheduled to take effect in March.

It's an extensive and mandatory cut of $1 trillion to the Department of Defense.

The Marion County Chamber of Commerce hosted Congressman David McKinley to kick off the 2013 'coffee with congress' series.

McKinley gave an update on the sequestration issue and informed the public where the government stands.

"It's important that we bring Washington back into Fairmont, back into Marion County so people can understand from a first hand perspective," McKinley said.

A report by the Aerospace Industries Association said sequestration could cause more than 4,000 jobs to be lost in West Virginia.
