A railroad-themed inn and lodge has opened in Elkins.
The Chamber of Commerce welcomed the Iron Road Inn with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Iron Road Inn has 63 sleepers, a station lobby with railroad murals, and the Marilyn Monroe Suite.
And, with the Gandy Dancer Theater and a restaurant next door its owners said its theme makes it a perfect fit.
"We wanted a name that would go with a railroad theme, and if you think about it the Gandy dancers are the ones that actually built the railroad because they're the ones that drove the spikes in the rail. So we wanted to get the Iron Road Inn near the Gandy Dancer because we all come together as a theme basically," said Julia and Harold Elbon, of the Iron Road Inn.
With attractions like train rides and theatre venues, Elbon said he saw a need for more motel rooms to meet the needs for visitors coming to Randolph County.
