Lauren Cvechko has signed her Letter of Intent to continue her athletic career in both track and soccer at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Cvechko, a senior at Buckhannon-Upshur, decided to stay close to home after attending some Wesleyan soccer camps while growing up.
Her passion for both sports fueled her interest to attend Wesleyan, as the school showed mutual interest in the senior to perform for both programs.
Cvechko was the first Buckhannon-Upshur state champion in track. She was also a member of multiple Bucs' soccer teams that advanced to the state tournament.
She is also a standout student-athlete in the classroom, boasting a 3.7 GPA. Cvechko said it was important to continue her career in both sports.
"I'm really excited," she said, "but I know it's going to be a lot of hard work because I'm going to have to keep up my academics and everything. But I definitely wanted in college to do both because I love both sports equally."
