A Taylor County man is behind bars on sex charges.

The Taylor County Sheriff's Department has arrested Willard James Brown, 31 of Independence.

Deputies said Brown is being charged with first degree sexual assault and sexual abuse by a parent or guardian in the first degree.

He is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail with bail set at $300,000.

The Taylor County Sheriff's Department is investigating and said more charges could be pending.
