Some Nutter Fort Intermediate students came to school Thursday morning dressed as significant figures in history.
Teachers said it was the final stage of a lengthy project.
Students chose a significant person in history, did some simple research, and learned about the writing process.
They then gave a speech and answered questions pretending to be their chosen person.
Parents said the project forces families to learn together.
"I think this was an awesome project opportunity because it introduced them into the writing process, research individuals and just research in general and it brought us together as a family where we could work with him. We learned also about the individual," said Paul Rasmussen, Nutter Fort Intermediate School parent.
Some of the people portrayed were Helen Keller, Football player Earnie Banks, and former President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
