The Harrison County Commission has taken a step to get bath salts off the streets.
The commission has accepted for consideration an ordinance that bans the possession, use, purchase, or distribution of bath salts and other synthetic drugs.
Bath salts are synthetic drugs linked to erratic behavior in users.
They can take many forms, which has caused problems for lawmakers working to curb the problem.
The commission will hold the first reading of the ordinance in two weeks.
