The Alderson-Broaddus football program is beginning its first season as a full member of NCAA Division II athletics. The team competed last year as a JV sport.
The Battlers compiled an impressive list of recruits on National Signing Day, including four players from the state of West Virginia. The one local in-state player to sign with A-B was Robert C. Byrd defensive lineman Teague Wagner. Wagner was a First Team Class AA selection on defense last season.
The new Performance Stadium is still under construction, with plans to be completely finished in time for A-B's inaugural home game during the first week of September when they host Pace University.

Antonio DeStefano (Cumberland, Md.) Allegany HS, DL/OL, 6-1, 275 lbs
Dakota Bruggeman (Saxonburg, Pa.) Knoch HS, QB/DB, 6-4, 205 lbs
A four sport athlete and four-year football starter at Koch High School ... Threw for 1,264 yards and 10 touchdowns his senior season ... Helped lead the Knights to a 7-3 record and WPIAL playoff berth ... Earned All-League honors at quarterback and punter ... Collected five interceptions at defensive back for KHS ... Also played basketball, track and lacrosse.

Aaron Garland-Moore (Munhall, Pa.) Steel Valley HS, WR/DB, 5-11, 185 lbs
Braxton Johnson (Parkersburg, W. Va.) Parkersburg South HS, WR/DB, 6-0, 175 lbs
Steven Strasser (Atwater, Calif.) Buhach HS, LB/DL, 5-11, 180 lbs
Justin Meadows (Carroll, Ohio) Bloom Carroll HS, WR/DB, 6-4, 190 lbs
Meadows had 40 catches for 610 yards and four touchdowns as a senior at Bloom Carroll HS. A Second Team Mid State League selection.
Dominic Moyer (Sinking Springs, Pa.) Wilson-Westlawn HS, FB/LB, 5-11, 200 lbs
Moyer was a Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Athletic Association AAAA First Team All-State linebacker, First Team All-Berks County linebacker and All-LL League First Team Section 1 linebacker. He was a member of the PIAA District 3 AAAA Champion team at Wilson High School.
Ryan Bacote (Reisterstown, Md.) Franklin HS/Lackawanna College, DB/WR, 5-10, 180 lbs
Teague Wagner (Clarksburg, W. Va.) Robert C. Byrd HS, OL/DL, 6-3, 280 lbs
Wagner started 35 games at Robert C. Byrd and was a three-time First Team All-Big Ten Conference choice, a two-time All County First Team selection and earned First Team All-State honors.
Dominique Williams (Potomac, Md.) Churchill HS, DB/WR, 6-1, 200 lbs
Williams is the son of former Pittsburgh Steeler and Super Bowl Champion Willie Williams. He caught 20 balls for 450 yards and six touchdowns his junior season at Churchill High School. Williams also recorded two interceptions and 35 tackles as a defensive back in 2011.
