The Preston County Sheriff's Department arrested a Fairmont man Friday.
Brandon Matthew King, 32, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering.
On Friday at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Preston County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to the Masontown area on a shots fired complaint at Main Pharmacy, according to the sheriff's department.
The incident turned out to be a breaking and entering in progress and Deputy Childers, of the Preston County Sheriff's Department, was advised that the suspect was being detained on scene by a local resident, according to the sheriff's department.
An off duty Kingwood police officer was in the area and detained the suspect, identified as King, until Deputy Childers' arrival.
Upon arrival, Deputy Childers determined that King broke a window out of the basement area of the pharmacy and had tried to gain access to the pharmacy by attempting to enter through the basement ceiling, according to the sheriff's department.
King was arrested and transported to the Preston County Sheriff's Department to await arraignment on a felony breaking and entering charge.
According to the sheriff's department, King sustained what appeared to be minor injuries from broken glass.
No other injuries were reported.
