The Clarksburg Police Department said the city's neighborhood watch program has been a big success.
According to Officer Mike Daugherty, who helps run the program, it's helped solve many drug-related crimes.
Residents know certain parts of the city better than the police do, so their tips are extremely helpful.
By paying attention to their surroundings, Daugherty said, residents are making a positive impact on the community.
"They're not being nosey, they're being aware. They're watching their surroundings, they're reporting suspicious behaviors. They're making a difference," Daugherty said.
If you're interested in getting involved with the neighborhood watch group call the Clarksburg Police Department at 304-624-1610, or if you have a specific tip, call 304-624-1625.
