A 17-year-old boy accused of murder was denied bond during a hearing Thursday in Randolph County Circuit Court.
Thomas Chevy Vas is accused of fatally stabbing Dustin White, 17, before a Tygarts Valley High School football game in October 2012.
Prosecuting Attorney Michael Parker said attorneys for Vas requested that an appropriate bond be set.
Judge Jaymie Wilfong denied bond and agreed with the state, since this is a capital offense.
The case was transferred from the juvenile docket of the court to the adult criminal docket last month. Following the transfer to the adult criminal docket, the case will be presented to the grand jury before it can proceed.
Vas is being held in a juvenile detention facility but will be tried as an adult.
