WEST MILFORD -
18 different kinds of chili were available for residents to try at West Milford United Methodist Church during its chili cook-off on Feb. 23.
Pastor Timothy Kelley said the event was the church's way to get the community involved with a fun event for the entire family.
"We're truly thankful that people came out today to support our chili cook-off. And, the reason that we had the chili cook-off was the opportunity to bring the church and the community together. We believe that's important that we should be part of the community here in West Milford," said Kelley.
It cost $8 to enter and once people were inside, they could eat as much chili as their stomachs could handle.
Other food was also available including corn bread, sandwiches, and desserts.
The proceeds from the cook-off will help pay for the church's newly paved parking lot.
