---Update 2/26/13 9:35 a.m.---

Steven Knotts, 45, of Shock, was killed while working for Pete Gould & Sons Inc., a pipeline contracting company, according to the Doddridge County Sheriff's Department.

OSHA responded around 4 p.m. on Monday and is still investigating how the incident happened and if any violations will be issued. OSHA has six months to issue a violation for the incident. 

The sheriff's dept. said Knotts was killed when a tree fell on him.

No other injuries were reported.

---Update 7:07 p.m.--

The Doddridge County Sheriff's Department said the man was working for a contracting company when the accident occurred.  It's not yet releasing the name of the employer.

Workers were in the process of creating a right-of-way for a pipeline project.

Four other workers were on scene when the accident happened, no others were injured.

The body is en route to Charleston for an autopsy.

The man was from West Virginia, but officials are not yet releasing details about his hometown.

He was in his 40s but sheriff's deputies are waiting to release more about the man who was killed.

---Update 5:58 p.m.--

The Doddridge County Ambulance Authority confirmed a fatality related to a timber-accident on Monday afternoon.  Officials said it happened when a tree kicked-back while the man was cutting timber.

Officials said the man died on impact.  He was middle-aged but his name has not yet been released. It's unclear where he is from.

The D.C.A.A. said the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Division of Forestry were contacted and expected to arrive on scene soon.

The D.C.A.A. was unable to confirm the name of the man's employer.

Emergency crews in Doddridge County are on the scene of a timber accident off of Arnold's Creek Road.

Doddridge County Central Communications Center said it's unclear if there are any injuries at this time. Crews were called to the scene around 3 p.m. Monday.
