A local fire department will get a share of $173,000 in federal funding.
The Ellenboro Volunteer Fire Department will receive more than $78,000 from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
It will use the money to buy safety equipment and to strengthen its training and wellness programs.
Other fire departments that received funding include the Harts Volunteer Fire Department, which received $47,443 and the Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, which received $47,272.
