The Upshur County Commission has set a date for a public hearing on a proposed rate hike for its enhanced 911 ordinance.

The hearing will start at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 4.

Upshur County has charged a 911 fee of $2.65 since 2005.

The proposed increase would raise fees to $4.50 for residents and $6.50 for businesses.
