Interstate 68 Eastbound near Mile Marker 13 has reopened following a tractor trailer fire on Thursday evening.

MECCA said it happened around 8:30 p.m. between Cheat Lake and Coopers Rock in Monongalia County.

The Cheat Lake Fire Department said a driver from B and J Trucking was hauling fertilizer when his engine overheated. The cab caught fire and burned everything inside, but firefighters were able to save the cargo.

Fire departments from Brookhaven, Coal Springs, and Granville also responded, as well as the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department.

The fire department said the driver was unharmed.

Officials advise drivers to use caution traveling in the area, as emergency workers are on scene.
