MORGANTOWN -

Local Foodies were able to sample, buy, and dine on local food Thursday evening at the Winter Blues Farmers Market in Morgantown.

Around 50 vendors came to the market sponsored by the West Virginia Farmers Market Association. They sold everything from local meats and veggies to soaps and clothing.

"We feel that it's very important to incorporate small businesses in to the Farmers Market just to add diversity for the shopper," said Lesa Gay, the organizer of the Winter Blues Farmers Market," as well as offering the opportunity for the people who normally shop there, to come to the farmers market to see them."

The farmers market was part of the West Virginia University Extension Service's Small Farm Conference.
