BRIDGEPORT -

An Inspection Authorization Renewal Safety Workshop was held Saturday in Bridgeport by the Federal Aviation Administration.

More than 90 people came to the Robert C. Byrd National Aerospace Education Center to learn about different safety techniques and practices when it comes to aviation.

Aircraft mechanics must get their inspection authorization renewed every year.

Aviation students from Pierpont Community and Technical College and mechanics from all over the state took advantage of the free training.

"We've had presentations from Michelin Aircraft Tires, we've had safety presentations from the FAA, we've had the inspection records authorization renewal forms," said Tom Stose, Aerospace Education Center. "We've reviewed those. We will have composite repairs and we are also going to talk about composite repairs and aviation safety."

The National Aerospace Education Center holds the aviation seminar every year.
