This year Alderson-Broaddus began a men's volleyball team, Saturday the squad held its final home match.

The battlers hosted WVU. Before the match coach Michael said before the game the Mountaineer would off the team its biggest test.

Despite being a new program, A-B came into the day undefeated in Penn-Ohio Valley League play and was an impressive 9-3 on the season.

The team lost 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 20-25) to the Mountaineers.

Before the game coach Crane said he's happy with how this young team has performed.

"Coming in with a first year program you hope to be 5-5. To be 9-3 overall and undefeated in your conference is pretty good for us. Our 3 losses came to NCAA Division II opponents."

The team will travel to Grove City, Pa. at the end of March to play in the POVL championship tournament.
