FAIRMONT -

Maddie's Angels hosted a "ladies night out" benefit on Saturday.

The event was held at the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

Guests came and got the chance to win 15 designer purses, along with numerous other prizes.

There were 50-50 drawings, and ticket sales for chances to win those purses.

There was also a jewelry sale. All of the proceeds benefit Maddie's Angels.

Representatives from the group said this was the first year for the event, and it sold out.

The group plans to host a similar event again in the future.
