    The West Virginia State Police took it's mobile forensic center to the WVU campus for future crime scene investigators to check out.Middle school and high school students from all over went to the university to learn several different methods for crime scene investigating.

One person was killed in a two vehicle collision in Monongalia County Monday morning.

It happened around 7 a.m. on the Mason Dixon Highway in the Core area.

A 1999 Buick Century was traveling west when it crossed the center line and struck a 2008 Toyota Highlander head-on, according to a news release from the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the Buick, Barbara Sperandio, 38 of Wana, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the accident.

Lisa Jo Statler, 36 of Wana, the driver of the Toyota, was transported to Monongalia General Hospital for treatment. According to the news release, Statler's injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's Department is investigating the collision.
