HEALDSBURG, Calif., March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2010 Williams Selyem Westside Road Neighbors Pinot Noir won the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Reserve Grand Champion and Best of Show award. A 9-Liter bottle of the winning wine was then auctioned at Champion Wine Auction and Dinner on Saturday March 2, 2013.

For a Show record of $205,000, buyers Bradley Fish; Red & Gay Griffin; and Chuck Simmons purchased the Reserve Grand Champion Best of Show Wine, Williams Selyem Westside Road Neighbors Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, 2010. "Providing the educational benefits for the children is why I get involved every year," said Bradley Fish, a previous champion wine buyer.

Director of Winemaking and General Manager of Williams Selyem Winery Bob Cabral was in attendance to help the bidding along. "We are so fortunate that we can help raise funds for children's education with our wine. I am humbled to be part of something that can have an impact on so many children's lives," said Cabral.

About Williams Selyem
Williams Selyem Winery was founded in 1979 by winemaking hobbyists Ed Selyem and Burt Williams in a garage in Forestville, California. In less than two decades, the winery achieved cult-status and garnered international acclaim for their Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and Zinfandels. Today, John and Kathe Dyson, who purchased the winery in 1998, carry on the passion for winemaking without compromise. While nearly all of Williams Selyem's wines are sold through the winery's direct consumer mailing list, a limited number of cases are released each year to a select group of the country's finest restaurants.
