BRIDGEPORT -

The new rest stops are up and running on Interstate 79 in Bridgeport, and just in time.

They'll be a convenient place for truckers to stop, if the weather makes driving too dangerous.

One trucker said rest stops like these are a good place to take a break, but not for long.

"I'm going to Bristol, Tennessee, and I have to go as far as I can until something happens or they shut the roads down. I just slow down and take my time to be safe, but even with the weather people have to get their supplies, so I can't stop," said Ryan Elliott of Barber Trucking.

The rest stops didn't have much traffic early Tuesday evening, but as the weather gets worse, the rest stops should get busier.
