There's a new mayor in town in Elkins after Tuesday's municipal elections.
Sitting Mayor Duke Talbott was defeated in a three-way race by challenger Van Broughton. Mark Scott finished in third place in that race.
The First Ward seat on Elkins City Council will also change hands. Incumbent Charles Kinnison was defeated by challenger Lonnie Randall.
In the Fourth Ward, Council Member Nanci Bross-Fregonara held her seat, defeating challenger Hollis Vance.
Mitch Marstiller, Carman Metheny, James S. Bibey and Joe Sabatino all ran unopposed for their seats.
Sabatino was appointed to his seat after a resignation on the Council. State law requires those appointees to stand for election to complete that term in the next general election.
The city said Tuesday's results are not official until certified by the canvassing board, currently scheduled for March 13.
