SHINNSTON -

One of the businesses participating in West Virginia University's "Buy Local" campaign is celebrating its one year anniversary.

Sacred Heart Christian Book and Gift Shoppe in Shinnston is one of the only like it in the area.

It sells books, music, candles, home décor, and more.

The owner of the store explained why customers come through his doors, rather than shop online.

"A lot of people they just want someone to talk to, and they want your opinion. You can't get that online. I live local, I worship local, and now I work local. I'm known in the community already, so that makes people comfortable," said Brian Beverly.

Sacred Heart Christian Book and Gift Shoppe is located on Pike Street in downtown Shinnston.
