
Travon Horton and Jarin Hilson, two players that have the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears in a position they are well accustomed to.
"We're all playing really well right now but Shaquille Washington has come a long way. He's really been grabbing the rebounds and Austin doesn't got the credit for a lot, but he does a lot for the team," Hilson said.
"It's the team. We all work together and if somebody is open then we hit the man. Someone will take the correct shot and I happened to take some good shots tonight and make them. And the same goes for Jarin Hilson, Devonte Waites and Shaquille Washington," Horton said.
The Polar Bears made the state tournament in AAA last year as a number four seed. Of course, now down to AA, West side is the number two ranked team in the state. Head Coach David Retton points out this year's team is much different than the one last year, but can still be just as good.
"These guys have done just an awesome job of staying the course with a rough start," Polar Bears Head Coach David Retton said. Being where we are right now, but we have a lot of improving to do."
"We just got to keep gelling as a team and just keep coming together. We need to defend and rebound to be successful," Hilson said.
