Winfield VFD Responds to Early Morning House Fire in Montana Mines

A house in the Montana Mines area of Marion County caught fire just after 2 a.m. Thursday morning.

The Marion County 911 Center said the Winfield Volunteer Fire Department, Bunner Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, and Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded and had the fire under control in about an hour.

Officials said there were people at the home when the fire started but were able to get out safely. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time but officials said it is not suspicious.

The house is a total loss.

The Marion County Sheriff's Department and Marion County Rescue Squad also responded.

Winfield VFD is investigating.
