WV Wesleyan College to Offer New Scholarship

Posted: Updated:

West Virginia Wesleyan College said a $50,000 donation will allow it to offer a new scholarship.

Wade Sperry, who graduated from Wesleyan in 1969, donated the money in honor of his brother.

The scholarship will provide $2,500 a year to a student with a physical or learning disability.

Students who have already applied to the college will also be able to earn the award.

"Right now we'll look at our existing pool of candidates and be excited to announce our first award winner next fall," said Bob Skinner, of W.Va. Wesleyan College.

Skinner said Wesleyan also hopes to increase the amount of the award as time goes on.
