MORGANTOWN -

The sun is peaking out from behind the clouds and spring is right around the corner. Before you know it the grass is going to need trimmed, the weeds will need pulled and maybe you'll even want to repaint that front door. The Home Show 2013 had all of the things to help you out for your summer projects, no matter how small or large.

"We are planning to build a new home in the next year or so and we want to do a lot of the new technologies with it," said Vicki Angotti. "We want to do geo-thermal and solar and really try to cut down our carbon footprint."

"Yeah, I'm going to build a patio in the back yard this summer," said Brian Besten.

More than 6,000 people came through the Mylan Park Expo Center for the Home Show.

The people visiting aren't the only ones who benefit. More than 100 vendors, Including Michele Messenger from Hardwood Interiors, came to show what their business has to offer.

"A lot of people that come here are remodeling or getting ready to build and we kind of get in on the ground floor and show them our products," said Messenger. "Our floors and doors and trim and cabinetry. It's a great opportunity to get the plans and start helping them from the ground up."

The home show is the second week of March every year when the weather starts to heat up and people start thinking about summer projects.

"Exactly when you start looking. You look outside and start going 'Oh I have so much to do, I need to go see what I might be doing this year," said Chris Ilardi, the Committee Chair for the Home Show. "Refinish the deck, redo the deck, change the siding, finish the roof."

Angotti said the home show is great for finding new businesses but also to get reacquainted with familiar ones.

"Even vendors that are from the area where I'm from but have products that I'm unaware of," said Angotti. "That was really nice to be able to have a place maybe you've shopped before but you haven't been there in a few years and you don't know all the new products they have."

If you couldn't make it out to the show or forgot the name of a business you want to learn more about head to the North Central West Virginia Home Builder's Association website for a full list of vendors.
